Lancashire pacer Kate Cross has become an integral part of England’s bowling attack having made her debut in October 2013 during a Twenty20 International tri-series in the West Indies.
She went on to play in the ODI series that followed and then headed to Australia to help England retain the Women’s Ashes – alongside fellow GM stars Sarah Taylor and Jenny Gunn.
She turned in a player of the match-winning performance against New Zealand in the fourth ODI in early 2015 when she took five for 24 in her 10 overs, in the process putting England on course for a 3-2 series win.
Although she began her England career in the limited overs formats, she played Test matches against both Australia and India in 2014, taking three wickets in each innings of her debut against Australia and repeating the feat against India.
Her rise to international prominence came after making her limited overs debut for Lancashire in 2005 and Twenty20 debut in 2008 having become the first woman to be accepted onto Lancashire’s Academy programme in 2006.
