As a wicket-keeper, Warwickshire’s Amy Jones has enjoyed a fine start to her career at domestic level but faces the not insignificant challenge of dislodging Sarah Taylor to gain a regular place in the England side.
Nevertheless, on occasion the two have played in the same side with Jones playing as a specialist batsman.
She first played domestic one-day cricket in 2008 and made her Twenty20 debut two years later, also playing for the Diamonds and Emeralds as one of England’s most promising players.
Her ODI debut came in February 2013 during the Women’s World Cup against Sri Lanka but she did not play another ODI until 2014, and another two against New Zealand in early 2015.
She has been given more opportunities in Twenty20 Internationals, making her debut against Pakistan in 2013 and going on to be part of the England team that finished as runners-up to Australia in the 2014 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.
