Gunn & Moore pair Ross Taylor and Joe Root played significant roles for their respective sides as England drew level with New Zealand in the ODI at Napier.
Taylor’s century was the New Zealand’s anchor as they reached 269. He started cautiously and his fifty came up off 81 balls but his second fifty took just 35 balls as England’s change bowlers were put under pressure.
Root entered the fray in the 32nd over with the score at 149 for 2 and was the only England player to score at a strike rate of over 100 with his top scoring unbeaten 79 coming off just 56 balls.
So a good day for Gunn & Moore, a good day for England and the series nicely poised for the third and deciding match on Saturday.
