Western Australian batsman Liam Davis and Queensland's young star Joe Burns have both been included in Australia's A One-Day International tour of England.

The selection panel made their final line-up with two factors in mind. The first is that good performances in the Australian summer have been recognised and rewarded, something that has not always been said of the national selection panel. The second is a focus on the Ashes tour of 2013 and familiarising a number of less experienced international players and back-up players with English conditions.

Davis and Burns had outstanding summer's for their repsective states. Davis scored a triple hundred in January and stared in a 379-run partnership with fellow Team GM Star Adam Voges against New South Wales, while Burns was more than comfortable in the middle-order for Queensland; helping them to lift the 2011/12 Sheffield Shield.

Commenting on the ODI squad, National Selector John Inverarity said, “Joe Burns is a young player who has shown consistency and all-round batsmanship and it is anticipated that this tour to England will provide for him some very valuable experience.

Gunn & Moore wish to congratulate both players on their selection.
