Shane Watson helped lead New South Wales to the semi-final of the Champions League Twenty20 competition in India. Former Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark and keeper-batsman Daniel Smith also stared for the Australian state team.

NSW cruised to the semi-final stage of the tournament, finishing at the top of their group, before meeting a strong Bangalore side in the knockout match.

The competition itself comprised of the two best Twenty20 state/county/provinces from the cricketing world (excluding Pakistan). The Mumbai Indians were the eventual winners of the four-week tournament.

Both Clark and Smith recently returned home to Sydney as they prepare to launch their domestic season for NSW, while Watson caught a plane straight to South Africa to meet up with his Australian team-mates ahead of what is anticipated to be a mouth-watering Test and ODI series between the two countries.
